Immunity Care for Bodyworkers
Advanced Level Massage Workshop

Course Overview

As conventional medicine becomes more aware of the role and the rewards that complementary medicine has to offer, further avenues of specialist holistic health care are opening up for a greater number of practitioners. A true case in point can be seen in the field of Immunity Care – working with people living with the challenges of HIV+ and AIDS as well as those with cancer – that is now well-established, indeed flourishing, within the NHS and within the charity sector. In order to feel fully equipped to offer forms of massage and bodywork to what is an understandably more complicated and challenging patient group, however, therapists benefit hugely from additional specialist training.

This workshop is intended to provide all the factual information and supervised hands-on practice needed to allow practitioners to feel comfortable and confident working in this most fascinating field. No therapeutic question can be considered too silly when helping a group of patients who are sometimes extremely unwell. This weekend therefore addresses all those practitioner concerns that you might have always wanted to ask but never found exactly the right opportunity to do so. Following a rigorous introduction to the physiological, pathological and psychological impact of a client’s immune compromised health status, participants will have ample opportunity to meet and work with some of Katyayani’s own HIV+ patients.
