Chakra Meditation

Chakras are dynamic, organic and simply extraordinary tools within our bodies! They are the receivers and transformers of prana, our life force. Through certain channels in the body they take up vital energy from our aura, from our immediate surroundings as well as from further afield, and transform these energies into more manifest frequencies within the subtle and physical body. They also transmit huge amounts of energy back into our surroundings. There is therefore a continuous exchange going on that aims, ideally, to keep us in a state of balance – health-wise, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually and creatively – within ourselves and within the world in which we live. Whilst certain ancient yogic texts count many thousands of these energy centres in the body, it is generally held that there are seven principal chakras located within the physical body, located along the length of the spinal column

The classes will take more or less the same format as the guided tantric meditation sessions in that, each week, there will be a guided visualisation that relates to the featured chakra or to some of its characteristics. In addition to this though, there will also be an amount off chanting of certain mantras held to be associated with each of the chakras as well as some information on chakras and exploration about how they might hold powerful messages for you. The practice can be done lying down on a futon or otherwise sat in a chair. Please bring a cushion and light blanket to cover yourself with.

Again no prior experience of mediation is necessary for this series. Again, whilst you don’t need to attend every evening of the series, it is recommended as each session continues on the chakra journey up the kundalini spinal cord. If this attendance is not practical though, it is still possible to attend individual sessions and still benefit from them.
